The Ricci family has been involved with cavalier life for many years — in United States since the mid 80's and overseas in Ireland since the 1930's. We breed and show (moderately) to preserve the breed and to build a better healthy dog for families, single people, autistic children, and in the therapy field.
Presently we are certifying our dogs as Canine Good Citizen and Delta Society therapy dogs. We keep busy with that.
We have 2 grown children: Neal, a successful blacksmith and writer, and Crystal, an RN BSN at Yale New Haven hospital. We are very proud of her contribution in her field, and she was instrumental in steering us in to therapy work at Yale, where our cavaliers work as therapy dogs. Crystal and her husband Eric have 3 beautiful kids: Owen, Molly, and Noah. They enjoy coming up and playing the dogs. Molly has been handling some puppies from birth.
We have a cavalier champion in our kennel, Prince, who we imported from Canada last year. He comes from 12 champion lines and was made a UKC champ this past spring. He is also a CGC Delta Society therapy dog earning this title at only 8 months. Another dog we are showing is Queenie. We purchased her from a top London line, and we will be showing her also.
We also show and raise miniature horses, and we are enjoying a great year with them. Our horses are #1 in the United States in AMHR and Pinto registeries.
Eileen is also a residential/commercial kitchen and bath designer owning her own (at home) firm since the 90's. The Riccis travel to Ireland a few times a year to go back and visit the family kennels. Doug has been semi-retired since 2009.
Please make an appointment to come out any time, and please bring the family!
